I Saw The Devil (2010)

Directed By:
Ji-woon Kim

Summing It Up:
Another amazing film from Korea, and one of the best revenge films of all time. Be sure to check this one out.

Quick Thoughts:
All I can say is, wow... Is this movie crazy or what?

Director Ji-Woon Kim (who brought us The Good, The Bad, and The Weird, and A Tale Of Two Sisters) has made one of the finest revenge films of all time. Beautifully shot, brilliantly acted, and extremely violent, this movie was easily a tie for the best film that I saw in 2010, and it was even better this time around.

Min-sik Choi's (Old Boy) gives an insane performance as a serial killer who is being hunted by the husband of one of his former victims. The catch is that the husband is not satisfied with just killing him; he wants him to suffer as much as possible in the process. How does he do this? By playing the most brutal game of catch-and-release ever.

Believe me, I'm not exaggerating when I say that every shot in this movie looks like a work of art. When contrasted against the beautiful look of the film, the violence is even more punishing (and believe me, there is a ton of it!).
